Chateau De La Cree is the hidden gem of Burgundy. It is located in Santenay, which was owned by Nicolas Rolin, founder of the Hospices de Beaune in the 15th century.
In 2015, the estate was purchased by Ken and Grace Evenstad, founders of the famed U.S. winery, Domaine Serene Winery. Today the talented winemaker of Château de la Crée, works closely with the Domaine Serene winemaking team to ensure that wine quality consistently meets the impeccable standards.
Comprising 25 acres of prime vineyard blocks in Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and Maranges, with 40% of all plantings in Premier Cru sites. Minimal intervention farming practices are employed in all vineyards to drive optimal terroir expression, and ensure soil and plant health.
Santenay is located right south to Chassagne Montrachet and is the most southern village of Burgundy famous "Cote D'or" ("Golden Coast") region.  Clos du Château is a "Monopole" parcel, south-east exposure, with vigorous vines where yields must absolutely be controlled for good maturity.

First nose focusing on toasty characteristics, then the red fruits aromas are enhanced. The palate reveals crispy cherry notes, quite pleasant with integrated tannins and some smoky characteristics very well balanced.
