Château Le Bon Pasteur is a famed Pomerol estate which was a family property of renowned wine consultant Michel Rolland. The seven hectares vineyards are spread out over 21 plots that located on the border between two world-famous regions: Pomerol and Saint-Emilion. This patchwork of terroirs accounts for the wine’s considerable complexity, deep colour and delicate bouquet. With Michel Rolland and Benoit Prévot vinification and blending techniques, the wines reflect all the nuances of the beautiful terroir.
The winery was sold to a Chinese investor in 2013, although Rolland remains as winemaker and estate manager.

Tasting Notes:
(Robert Parker's rating: 94 points)
A brilliant effort from well-known oenologists Dany and Michel Rolland, the 2009 Bon Pasteur is dominated by Merlot, with a touch of Cabernet Franc included in the blend. It reveals textbook notes of mocha, tobacco leaf, blackberries, black cherries, roasted coffee and wood smoke. Full-bodied and luscious with a succulent, beautifully textured, multidimensional mouthfeel, low acidity and sweet but noticeable tannin, it is reminiscent of the 1982 Bon Pasteur, which continued to put on weight for a decade or more.
