The Chivas Regal Mizunara was first launched in October 2014. Started from a trip to Japan from Chivas Master Distiller Colin Scott to create a Blend using at least 12 years old with a generous measure of Speyside malts, partly finished in Casks made from the noble and rare Mizunara (Japanese Oak) wood. 

Mizunara (水楢) is Japanese oak and it's used to age Japanese whiskey such as Suntory's Yamazaki Single Malt. The elegant sandalwood comes through beautifully with brioche and toffee aromas, it goes perfectly with its nice and smooth body. This is the first time a Scotch whiskey has aged in Japanese wood! It's truly an East meets West in a bottle that guaranteed a great adventure.
