(Allen Meadows' rating: 89-91 points)

Amélie Berthaut, after studying agronomist-oenologist engineer in Bordeaux, she back to her hometown, Burgundy, and founded the Domaine.  She is the daughter of Denis Berthaut (Domaine Berthaut for at least 7 generations)and Marie-Andrée Gerbet(Domaine François Gerbet), has taken over both her father's, and most of her mother's vineyards. This explains why, among the total of 18 ha, there is the mix of vineyards mainly from Fixin(the most underestimateed village in Cote de Nuits), Gevrey, Vougeot, Chambolle and Vosne-Romanée in the range. In 2017, Nicolas Faure, Amélie's husband, joined the estate, after having learned his skills at JL Chave, Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Domaine Prieuréé-Roch.
The production only of wines of Controlled Designation of Origin is 90% red. The vines are cultivated with respect for the environment, with an organic tendency. The wines are vinified and aged in a non-interventionist way.

Tasting Notes:
(Allen Meadows' rating: 89-91 points)
This too is ripe but really quite fresh with its cool essence of markedly spicy aromas of red and dark currant and floral hints. There is both good verve and detail to the refreshingly saline flavors where the impressively long finish is shaped by firm tannins. I very much like the depth and persistence though I would underscore that this is a very serious Vosne villages that will require at least some patience and should reward 10 to 12 years. Outstanding.
