Domaine Humbert Freres Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Craipillot 2017 (Vinous: 89-91)

酒莊Humbert Freres由家族經營，現時由Frédéric 及 Emmanuel Humbert兩兄弟管理。他們是熱情的葡萄農，悉心照料其7公頃的葡萄園。雖然面積不太大，但它位於布根地紅酒其中一個最著名的風土Gevrey-Chambertin。園內的Pinot Noir老藤超過 50 年，釀酒風格傳統，葡萄去梗並通過自然發酵完成。

明亮的深紅色。麝香覆盆子、黑櫻桃和淡淡的煙燻味撲鼻而來。甜度和質感有所提升（Humbert 說它的潛在酒精度比其他葡萄酒高半度），但這款成熟的葡萄酒充滿野生莓果的風味，並以優雅的單寧和悠長的甜潤感覺收結。

The Humbert Frères estate is managed by the brothers Frédéric and Emmanuel Humbert. They are the passionate winegrowers, who take care of its seven hectares vineyard. Although it is modest in size, it benefits from one the most well-known terroirs of Burgundy reds, Gevrey-Chambertin. The vineyard is composed of old Pinot Noir vines, exceeding 50 years. The vinification is traditional, grapes destemmed and done by natural fermentation.

Vinification:
80-year-old vines. Fermented after 3-6 days of cold soaking in temperature-controlled tanks to avoid excessive tannin extraction. 50% of the wine is aged in new oak barrels for 16-18 months. No fining or filtration before bottling.

Tasting Notes:

Deep, bright red. Musky raspberry, dark cherry and a whiff of smoky reduction on the nose. A step up in sweetness and texture from the preceding wines (Humbert says this fruit is typically a half-degree higher in potential alcohol than the rest of his holdings), in fact almost roasted in the context of this group. But this very ripe wine is stuffed with wild berry flavor and finishes with distinctly elegant tannins and lingering sweetness.
