Rooted in Chambolle-Musigny, Hudelot-Baillet is hands-down a producer to know. Founders Joel and Chantal passed the domaine to their son-in-law Dominique 15 years back, and their vigneron neighbors have consistently been impressed with the juice he's putting out.

Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits is the appellation for red, white and rosé wines produced from vineyards on the "hautes cotes" (high slopes) of the Côte de Nuits subregion of the northern Côte d'Or, Burgundy. Created in 1961, it is clearly distinguished from the more prestigious vineyards located on the mid-slopes below, which fall under the eight communal and 23 Grand Cru appellations of the Côte de Nuits.

Appellation:
Hautes Cote de Nuits, Bourgogne

Country of Origin:
Burgundy, France

Type:
Red/Rouge (Still)

Grape Variety:
Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes:
Moderate reduction flattens the underlying fruit at present. Otherwise there is good volume for the Hautes Côtes to the medium weight flavors that possess very good punch and minerality, all wrapped in a dusty, rustic and ever-so-mildly drying finish.
