2016年的Gaintus Sobremadurado令人充滿好奇,因為只出產了463瓶半支裝(375毫升)。它是為數不多的甜紅葡萄酒,用Penedès 部分乾燥的葡萄,而且好可能是唯一用Sumoll品種生產的。散發出蜜餞櫻桃和稻草的香氣,還有聖誕蛋糕和利口酒的味道。在橡木桶陳年9個月,為它加添牛油的香味。殘糖雖然達到每升204克,但甜味和酸度取得很好的平衡。

A selective harvest is done of the best clusters of Sumoll. The bunches are then transported to an ancient hay barn, where they are hung to dry for more than 4 months in the breeze until the desired level of sugar concentration is reached.
After vinification the wine ages in new French oak barrels of 225L for 9 months.

A curiosity more than anything, as only 463 half-bottles were produced, the 2016 Gaintus Dulce de Uva Sobremadurada is one of the few sweet reds produced from partially dried grapes in Penedès, and it's most likely the only one produced from Sumoll grapes. It has a nose of candied cherries and straw, with hints of Christmas cake and liqueur. There is some creaminess from nine months in French barriques and a good balance between sweetness and acidity despite its 204 grams of residual sugar.
