The Tarlant family traces their winegrowing history back to 1687, when Pierre Tarlant first cultivated grapevines in the Marne Valley. In 1928, Louis Adrien Tarlant produced the family’s first estate-bottled champagne, and since then there have been four successive generations of Tarlants producing wine at their estate in the village of Oeuilly. Today the estate is in the hands of Benoît Tarlant, who has been making wine here since 1999.

The diversity of soils in this area of the Marne Valley results in a complex signature of terroir that is strongly reflected in Tarlant’s wines. These are ample, full-flavored champagnes, influenced by their close proximity to the Marne River, as well as by Tarlant’s sophisticated use of oak for vinification.

Without added sugar, Zero (stands for zero dosage) is a frank fresh champagne that unveils all that the grapes and soil have to say. This Brut Nature is rare and remarkable in the balance of the three varieties benefiting from methods of cultivation which respect nature, and which are specially selected at perfect maturity.

Tasting Notes:
On the eye: Glistening, coral pink.
Nose: Astonishingly, the nose leaps out at you from the bottle, elegant with hints of red citrus fruit. Then scents of red fruit press in behind, while touches of pepper give a gently spicy hint.
Mouth: At one and the same time luminous and meaty, the mouth is impressive in its fruity exoticism and natural vinosity. Dominated by redcurrant and raspberry, hints of spicy vanilla or perhaps tonka bean surprise you.
