Château de Lacquy is a 400 hectares estate with vineyard on 20 hectares situated in the best part of Armagnac area in Gascony (South West of France). The estate and the mansion have belonged to the same family since 1711. 18th century’s papers show that the estate was already producing Armagnac with its own still. With 300 years and 11 successive generations, the estate is the oldest family-owned producer of Armagnac.

In 2014, to commemorate the tercentenary of the entrance of the estate in his family, Count Gilles de Boisséson composed a rare blend of old Armagnac from the cellar and the family collection.

Since 1711 at Château de Lacquy, through the ups and downs of history (six Kings, two Emperors, five republics, three revolutions ...), Armagnac continued to be distilled and aged with love for generations to come. Time and patience are the first requirements to produce Armagnac, to assemble what has been left by past generations, and to let age what future generations will enjoy.

The essence of this long work is hosted in the Carafe des Siècle, embossed with the family monogram, and whose case is made of French oak trees from surrounding forests. It is this same pedunculate oak that is used for Armagnac barrels from Château de Lacquy’s cellar.

This unique blend of eaux-de-vie distilled between 1800 and 1980, is characterised by its great delicacy and its delight on the palate. Unaggressive, it exhales aromas of great complexity with floral notes, pints of spices, vanilla, cocoa and candied fruits. Its endless finish is outstanding, leaving on the palate a persistence of flavours with incredible power along with delicate sweetness.

It is the finest armagnac of the estate, a flagship with great precision of selected old armagnacs, it has a lingering crescendo of floral notes, pints of spices, vanilla, cocoa and candied fruits aromas with unctuous texture, a skyscraper-like mid-palate in perfect harmony and finesse with keeping its incredible power in check along with delicate sweetness. An extended curtain call and tremendously long and complex finish even at the fond de verre.
