Conca de Barberà white wine by Bodega Escoda-Sanahuja. Escoda-Sanahuja switched to organic farming in 1997, and in 2003 they moved on to biodynamic agriculture. Starting in 2007, they stopped adding sulphites to their wine. The winery belongs to the Grupo de Trabajo Biodinámico del Mediterráneo (Mediterranean Biodynamic Agriculture Group) and the PVN (Productores de Vinos Naturales, Natural Wine Producers). Enticing aromas of dried fruits and dried flowers. Intense, focused and linear. The aroma of the glass reminded us of the sun-dried tangerine peels and dried flower, which is a nice surprise to be found in Chenin Blanc. After letting the wine breathe for a while, it’s even fresher with the fruitiness of dried mangoes, dried pineapples and beeswax, similar to the aromas commonly found in dessert wines. The whole brunch of grapes are fermented with skins to increase the flavour, just like the method of making Orange Wine. In 2017, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc were used, which are also fermented with natural yeast in highland stone cups, that can be regarded as the peak of unfiltered Semillon.  The 2018 vintage used 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the taste is so delicate and complex, which is definitely worth trying.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTasting Notes:\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003e(Robert Parker's rating: 95 points)\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003eThe punching down of the grapes (without stems) with the skins was ultra light to avoid extracting bitter notes.  So the skin effect on the nose and even the color is quite light. Amazingly enough, there are no added sulfites here, and the wine is clean and precise, with no deviations whatsoever. This is very tasty and has very fine tannins and a subtle minerality that is a chalky texture. 4,500 bottles were filled in July 2019.\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn the view\u003cspan\u003e – Golden straw\u003c\/span\u003e.\u003cbr\u003eOn the nose – \u003cspan\u003eContrast between sorb tree fruits and ripeness, with fine pastry notes and light notes of chamomile.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eIn the mouth – \u003cspan\u003eSilky palate with hints of apricot compote.
