The story of Luciano Sandrone started in the 1970s. The Sandrone family was borned and raised in Langhe which has worked a total of 27 hectares spread between Langa and Roero.
They always had a clear philosophy of quality in mind. Each wine must be great, unique and able to withstand time, which is approachable young, and capable of aging beautifully.
In fact, they did create masterpieces. Their first wine, Barolo Cannubi Boschis, produced in limited quantities, the 1989 and 1990 vintages received 97 and 100 points, respectively, from Robert Parker. As this was the first perfect score for a Barolo, it grabbed all the attention from wine lovers to the Sandrone.
Year after year, Barolo Cannubi Boschis 2001 became the first wine outside France to feature in 'The Drops of God' as the 6th Apostles which made it one of the most sought-after Barolo wines.
ALESTE Barolo is the natural continuity of the Barolo Cannubi Boschis (since 2013 vintage). Giving all the experience, knowledge, patience and passion of many harvests, Luciano pays tribute, with boldness and sensibility, to the next family generation: "ALESTE" is in fact the combination of the names of his grandchildren ALEssia and STEfano.

Vinification:
Spontaneous fermentation from indigenous yeasts. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation in open steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation and ageing in French Oak tonneaux of 500 liters. Aged in bottle for 18 months before release.

The purity and brightness of nebbiolo is so impressive here. Strawberries and blue fruit abound. Full-bodied, yet tight and very polished with a long, persistent finish. Very transparent and appealing.
