Deanston位於高地中部,前身是一座棉紡廠,其歷史可以追溯至 18 世紀末,於1966年改建為蒸餾廠。
Deanston以無泥煤味的威士忌聞名。他們一直只用蘇格蘭種植的穀物,而所用的水沿自泰斯河(River Teith),河水流經花崗岩,令水質柔軟,所以非常適合釀造威士忌,而蒸餾廠更承襲了棉紡廠「水力發電」的傳統。

大多數蘇格蘭威士忌都是在波本桶中熟成,以處女桶(新鮮白橡木桶)熟成並不常見。蒸餾廠採用美國最細緻、來自肯塔基州的家族製桶廠 Kelvin Cooperage之處女桶,將Deanston 烈酒陳放9-12個月。選擇以此來作最後陳年,而非全程在此熟成,以保持美妙的平衡,不怕桶味過於霸道。

Deanston is housed in a former cotton mill in the central Highlands that dates back to the late eighteenth century. The buildings were converted in to a distillery in 1966. 
Deanston is known for its unpeated whisky. 
They only use Scottish grown crops, sourced from local farmers and the water is from the River Teith, which flows over granite, making it very soft and perfect for making whisky. With help from the original lade used by the mill, the water is directed towards the distillery for use in production. 

The majority of Scotch Whisky is matured in ex-bourbon casks, maturation in fresh white oak casks is not so widespread in the production of Scotch Whisky. The distillery has selected some of the finest American, virgin oak casks from the Kelvin Cooperage, family-run cooperage based in Kentucky, to finish Deanston spirit in for 9-12 months, choosing finishing over maturation to ensure a perfect balance, without overpowering.
