Le Plus de La Fleur de Bouard 2010 (RP: 94+)

FRR000354

Vintage

(Robert Parker's rating: 94+ points)

As the limited flagship cuvée of La Fleur de Boüard, Le Plus is the personal masterpiece of proprietor Hubert de Boüard.

Sourced exclusively from a prime 4.5-hectare parcel of 50-year-old Merlot vines, its extremely low yields result in remarkable flavor density, giving the wine exceptional structure and depth.

The wine undergoes fermentation and aging entirely in 100% new oak. Bottled without fining or filtering to preserve its raw aromatic intensity and plush texture, it is a true rarity with an annual production of only 3,000 to 5,000 bottles, making it a highly coveted collector’s prize.

Tasting Notes:
(Robert Parker's rating: 94+ points)
This wine ratchets up the level of extract, power, density and richness as well as tannin, so it needs 3-4 years of cellaring and can keep, I would assume, for up to two decades...This is a beauty, a full-throttle, pedal-to-the-metal Lalande de Pomerol that is impossible to believe comes from a less heralded appellation.

The standard of excellence for Lalande de Pomerol is Hubert de Bouard’s 50-acre property, over half of it located on the highly prized Neac plateau, which consists of clay, sand and gravel sub-soils.
