Kilkerran單一麥芽威士忌是Glengyle蒸餾廠的出品。Glengyle是Springbank附近的姐妹蒸餾廠。由Springbank創始人Archibald Mitchell的兒子William Mitchell於1872年創立。幾經易手後,於1925年關閉。2000年,距離Glengyle上次出產威士忌75年後,Mitchell’s Glengyle Limited出手收購。其掌舵人Hedley Wright正是最初創辦人William Mitchell的侄曾孫。
重生的Glengyle於2004年蒸餾出第一批威士忌,所有威士忌均在坎培爾熟成並裝瓶。不經冷凝過濾,無添加色素

Matured in Bourbon and Sherry casks

Kilkerran Single Malt is produced at Glengyle Distillery. which is the sister distillery to nearby Springbank. It was founded in 1872 by William Mitchell, son of Archibald Mitchell, founder of Springbank. But it has changed hands several times and closed in 1925.
In 2000, 75 years after Glengyle had last produced spirit, it was bought by Mitchell’s Glengyle Limited, headed by Mr Hedley Wright, and great-great nephew of William Mitchell, original founder of Glengyle. The first distillate of the reborn Glengyle came out of the stills in 2004.
All the whisky is matured and bottled in Campbeltown. No chill filtered and no added colouring.
The 2023 release of Kilkerran 12 Years Old is matured in a mix of barrels: 70% Bourbon and 30% Sherry.

Tasting Notes:
Aroma: 
Notes of sweet confectionery introduce this dram, with Turkish delight, pear drops and marzipan apparent on the nose. There are hints of subtle peat smoke, like toasted marshmallows by a campfire.

Palate: 
Initially zesty with citrus notes of lemon cheesecake and an oiliness typical of a Campbeltown whisky. Peat smoke, leather bound books and peppery, spicy notes develop over time, along with sweet sticky toffee pudding.

Finish:
The peat smoke carries through to the finish in campfire embers, with sweet hints of pecan pie and butterscotch.
