這是一款帶鹹感、辛香、既刺激且優雅的 Riesling(近似 Spätlese 風格),餘韻悠長,並帶鹹感。
(James Suckling's rating: 96 points)
Immich-Batterieberg is one of the most historic estates in the Mosel. Founded and helmed by the Immich family since 1425 (until 1989), it was revived in 2009 by the talented winemaker Gernot Kollmann and his partners.
Ellergrub, the steepest and largest Enkirch site is about 200 meters upstream of the Batterieberg in the Starkenburger Fels. It features an abundance of ungrafted old vines over 80 years of age, which impart a unique intrinsic tension to the Riesling. Characterized by the finely eroded, dark ("blue") slate, this terroir produces some of the cleanest, purest, and crispest expressions of Riesling.
Kollmann specializes in dry and off-dry Rieslings crafted with minimal intervention. By eschewing chaptalization, concentration, de-acidification, and chemical fining agents—with only minimal sulfur added at bottling—he produces wines that are structurally precise, vibrantly alive, and perfectly balanced.

The 2016 Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling is clear, bright and piquant on the flinty nose, indicating a first maturity and offering a perfect representation of the 80+-year-old vines on blue slate soils as well as the delicate vintage. Bottled with 11% alcohol and 15 grams of unfermented sugar, this is a salty-piquant, very stimulating and elegant (Spätlese styled) Riesling with a long, piquant and salty finish. A fabulous wine to quaff or to have with food, Alsatian Flammkuchen for example.

This is exactly how I imagined the dry Mosel wines of the late 19th century, which has achieved a spectacular international breakthrough for the region. Very delicate, floral and filigree with underplayed power, which is currently only showing in the stunning super-mineral finish. Drink or hold. There is plenty of aging potential considerable here.
