Château Soleil 2008 (RP:89)

FRR000249

Château Soleil and Château Croix du Rival have become what they are thanks to strong friendships with Didier Miqueu and Stephan von Neipperg. Both estates are located on terroir typical of the Saint Emilion area. They represent the culmination of a long, painstaking, dedicated search for great forgotten terroirs in the Bordeaux vineyards.  In 2005, they purchased Château Soleil, an estate with a good reputation located on the best terroir in Puisseguin. Its twenty-hectare vineyard had always been considered one of the best in the appellation. They made major investments in the vineyards and winery, to enable the terroir to express its magnificent potential to the full.

Tasting Notes:
Château Soleil is amazingly ripe for this late vintage. The wine is charming and well-balanced, with exuberant red-berry fruit and blackberries on the palate, as well as very silky, smooth tannins. Its well-balanced structure gives it great ageing potential.
A fine, well-focused wine, exemplary of the constant progress made on this estate, both in the vineyard and the winery, over the past few years.
