Clos du Prieur Terrasses du Larzac 2012 (RP:88)

FRR00622

Vintage

Clos du Prieur 由 Marie Orliac 於 1999 年創立。Marie 承襲了父親 Jean Orliac(南法 Pic St. Loup 獨立釀酒先驅及 Domaine de l’Hortus 創辦人)的遠見,對 Saint-Jean-de-Buèges 的風土深感著迷。

Clos du Prieur was established in 1999 by Marie Orliac, daughter of Jean Orliac — the pioneering independent grower of Pic St. Loup and founder of Domaine de l’Hortus.

Marie was captivated by the terroir of Saint-Jean-de-Buèges, a secluded mountain village nestled between the Larzac and Selle peaks that had been nearly forgotten by the world. Influenced by mountain winds, the climate here is cooler than in Pic St. Loup, allowing the grapes to reach a slow and perfect ripeness. Marie restored 4.5 hectares of old-vine Grenache and Syrah planted on brown limestone terraces, while also renovating a cellar that had lain abandoned for nearly a century. Today, the estate uses natural yeasts and ages each variety according to its character: Grenache in concrete tanks to preserve its pure fruit, and Syrah in oak barrels to develop its depth.

Tasting Notes:
(Robert Parker's rating: 88 points)
The 2012 Terrasses du Larzac has lots of spice, dried flowers, lavender and sweet black raspberry notes to go with a medium-bodied, elegant style on the palate. The standard blend of 70% Syrah, 25% Grenache and 5% Cinsault, this spent 18 months in equal parts concrete tank and 400-Liter barrels prior to bottling.
