來自Wachau的Elisabeth Pichler-Krutzler和來自Burgenland的Erich Krutzler於2006年在Wachau開設了自己的酒莊，兩夫婦都來自著名的釀酒家族，他們一起以優質靈魂和個性製作酒品，完全尊重自然和可持續發展的葡萄種植方式。
這些都是Erich Krutzler於九十年代定下來的足跡，當時他為家族在Südburgenland出產出色而有性格的紅酒，這也解釋了為甚麼Burgenland Blaufränkisch會和Riesling 及 Grüner Veltliner同時出現在貨品系列中。
Pichler-Krutzler的葡萄酒皆突顯純淨，也從不會為品質妥協。所有酒都充分反映其風土，收成、培養和裝瓶都不作混合其他品種。因為沒有加糖、所有作發酵的糖份全來自葡萄汁、Unfined，所以酒都如實清楚地表現產地根源，是絕不譁眾取寵的高級手工藝品。

單一葡萄園Pfaffenberg位處多瑙河上的Steiner Pfaffenberg。土壤貧瘠，由結晶原生岩組成，主要是片麻岩和雲母片岩。冷風由西面吹來，形成極大的日夜溫差。Pfaffenberg可說是整個奧地利最佳的Riesling產區，感覺剔透而優雅，沒有任何厚重的感覺。(自2017年開始有機種植)
品酒筆記：
十分清新的鮮味，強勁的杜松子草莓，新鮮青檸、蘋果、甘露、黑醋栗，滲入少許石塊、煙燻黑茶葉，與酒本身的果味作對比。多層次的味道令此酒沒有完結可以陳存至2020年。
Elisabeth Pichler-Krutzler from the Wachau and Erich Krutzler from the Burgenland founded their own wine estate in the Wachau in 2006. Both husband and wife originated from famous wine-making families. Together, they craft wines of great soul and individuality, based on a respect form nature and sustainable viticultural practice.
All this is a continuation of the path that Erich Krutzler set out on in the 1990s when he helped his family estate produce outstanding and characterful red wines in the Südburgenland. This is why a Burgenland Blaufränkisch finds its place in the range alongside Riesling and Grüner Veltliner.
The Pichler-Krutzler wines are pure, unadulterated and made without compromise to quality. Each wine is the reflection of its own terroir, harvested, raised and bottled without blending. Since there is no chaptalization, no juice concentration, no fining or additives of any sort, all the wines express their origins plain and clear. Just high-grade handcraft without any fancy trends.
From “young” vines (of 40-45 years’ age) when compared with those of the small attached parcel of Gruner Veltliner (whose inaugural instantiation I also review in this report), Pichler and Krutzler’s 2012 Riesling Pfaffenberg weighs-in at a12.5% alcohol despite not having been picked until October, 20 – several days after Loibenberg was brought at a full degree higher. There is fantastic clarity here allied to infectious juiciness. Pungent juniper berry and sage inflect fresh lime, apple, luscious honeydew and cassis, while a suffusion of crushed stone and smoky black tea serves for contrast with the wine’s effusive fruitiness. A veritably kaleidoscopic interplay ensues in the endlessly fascinating and refreshing finish of this exciting debut that should merit following through at least 2020.

Ried(Single VIneyard) Pfaffenberg is high above the river Danube on the famous Steiner Pfaffenberg. The soils are barren and are composed of crystalline primary rock dominated by Gneiss and Mica schist. Mostly cool winds are breezing from the west and it is hence exposed to temperature extremes. The Pfaffenberg is supposed to be one of the best places for Riesling in entire Austria. Fine wine are turning up in the glass: transparent and highly elegant without any heaviness or richness. Fermentation and Ageing:
Natural yeasts used for fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Ageing in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting Notes:
