Domaine La Sousto Blanc 2021

FRW510

The history of La Sousto began with Théodoric Barrot, born in 1865. He was forced to leave Châteauneuf-du-Pape after the phylloxera crisis, he settled in Marseilles as a baker. His son, Lucien, was born in Marseilles in 1917 who return to the village in the 1930s at the early age of 15. He took over the few family vineyards and sharecropped others in order to increase the surface area at his disposal. He married Raymonde Tonnaire in 1941. Raymonde took over the reins of the estate with courage when Lucien died. In 1970, one of their sons, Pierre, joined the estate in 1970 before succeeding his parents completely.
The vineyards in Chateauneuf du Pape enjoy the genuine strength of 3 terrors, the Climats with a land of:
1. limestone flint - cultivate Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, which presents aromatic fineness and elegant tannins.
2. pebbles & quartz (torn from the Alps in the quaternary period) - they release heat accumulated during the day, which explain the rich, warm character of the Grenache.
3. clay -  the deep, rich clay that is red in color, which have planted Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. It bring the fruit and the body of the final blend.
