關於 Flora & Fauna 系列

Dailuaine, a Speyside distillery mainly used in Diageo blends like Johnnie Walker, produces a bold, oily spirit with meaty and dried fruit notes — quite different from the region’s usual light style.
Founded in 1852, its name comes from Gaelic meaning “the green vale.” The distillery sits in a hollow by the Carron Burn in Banffshire, and for over a century, all supplies were shipped by rail.
Though most of its whisky goes into blends, its 16 Year Old Flora & Fauna single malt stands out for its rich fruit and spice. Traditional methods like worm tub condensers and onion-shaped stills add weight and complexity, making Dailuaine a hidden gem for those who enjoy fuller flavors.
About Flora and Fauna Collection
In 1991, United Distillers, now Diageo, launched a collection featuring 22 single malt whiskies from its distilleries, and Teaninich was one of them. Since many of its distilleries primarily produced blends, this collection offered a rare opportunity for the public to experience the original single malt spirit.
Initially, the collection had no official name when it was first released in 1991. It was later coined by Michael Jackson, who referred to the label depictions. Today, Flora and Fauna collection is becoming increasingly rare and is recognized as one of the most distinguished collections in the whisky world.

Rich and layered. Opens with cheddar cheese rind and old Madeira, evolving into walnuts, butterscotch, and overripe oranges. With water, it turns fresher—citrus juice, candied peel, sandalwood, and soft toffee.
Palate:
Full, sweet and warming. It retains its citric freshness, but with deeper currents, and a trace of Highland toffee.
Finish:
Warm, with a light nutty touch.
