"Jour Fixe” Riesling Brut Nature is a boutique sparkling wine crafted from ungrafted Riesling vines over 70 years old on Mosel’s steep slate slopes.
The base wine was aged for nine months in old oak with native yeasts, then underwent traditional bottle fermentation. Disgorged in February 2019, it spent about three and a half years on the lees — longer than most German Sekt — resulting in a wine with striking structure and layered complexity.
Often likened by critics to the power of grower Champagne, it bursts with aromas of apple, lemon peel, honey, and buttery biscuit. Serve in a larger glass to let the bouquet unfold and reveal the slate-driven minerality.

From roughly 70-year-old ungrafted vines, vinified in barriques for nine months and disgorged in February 2019, the 2015 Riesling Extra Brut Jour Fixe displays an intense golden color and opens with an intensely aromatic, fruit-intense nose. On the palate, this is an intensely aromatic but pure, refreshing, salty and well-structured sparkling wine with extract, length and mineral freshness. This is a full-bodied and concentrated Riesling Sekt in a pretty unique style.

A touch of peach skin, a hint of wet stone: the nose of this Sekt is restrained yet promising. On the palate, the fine mousse accompanies a delicately drawn acidity. Honey notes, stoniness and lemon peel meet the subtle nuance of fine pastry.
