2005年,酒莊釀造出首支Pinot Noir開始,Nanny Goat葡萄園一直致力於釀造出優雅,集中而平衡的美酒,同時讓每一籃葡萄得以訴說自己的故事。釀酒師Alan Peters Oswald是大洋洲地區十大傑出年輕釀酒師之一,亦是當中唯一一位來自紐西蘭。

釀造:
葡萄以人手採收及去梗。一部分在被踩踏前經過二氧化碳浸漬(Carbonic Maceration) -- 最後15%是原串葡萄。在自然發酵和短暫的沉澱之後,葡萄酒就會轉移到225升的法國橡木桶(30% 新桶),進行蘋果酸乳酸發酵(MLF)及陳年10個月。

花香芬芳,紅玫瑰的香氣帶來繽紛的果香,包括車厘子和莓果的味道,以及微妙的新鮮香草味。細膩、成熟的單寧作為骨架,令葡萄酒充滿活力,並具備陳年潛質。

Nanny Goat Vineyard is named after the wild goats that roam the mountainous terrain of the Central Otago. It seemed to be a fair reflection of the determination to succeed, adapt and thrive in the rugged and often extreme climates of Central Otago – much like the nimble and sure footed wild goats of the region have done.
From the inception and the inaugural release of Pinot Noir in 2005, Nanny Goat Vineyard has strived to produce wines with elegance, concentration and balance while allowing each individual parcel of fruit to tell its own unique story. Winemaker Alan Peters Oswald – one of the top 10 young winemakers of the year from Australasia and the only winemaker from NZ.

The Queensberry range is 100% sourced from the home vineyard in Queensberry. BioGro Certified organic, this single vineyard range sees the benefits of the adoption of organic and regenerative viticultural practices, both environmentally and qualitatively. The effect of healthy soils and resilient vines is evident in the quality of fruit and characteristics of this wine.

Winemaking
Fruit for this wine was carefully Hand picked & destemmed. Part of the fruit underwent a period of carbonic maceration prior to being foot stomped - the final blend contains 15% Whole Bunch. After fermentation and a brief period of settling the wine was racked to 225L French oak barriques (30% new) where it underwent natural MLF and matured for 10 months before bottling.

Fragrant, floral aroma with the scent of red rose leads to a more fruitforward palate with dark cherry/berry characters with subtle fresh herb flavours. A backbone of fine, ripe tannins gives energy and suggests cellaring potential.
