Chateau De La Cree is the hidden gem of Burgundy. It is located in Santenay, which was owned by Nicolas Rolin, founder of the Hospices de Beaune in the 15th century.
In 2015, the estate was purchased by Ken and Grace Evenstad, founders of the famed U.S. winery, Domaine Serene Winery. Today the talented winemaker of Château de la Crée, works closely with the Domaine Serene winemaking team to ensure that wine quality consistently meets the impeccable standards.
Comprising 25 acres of prime vineyard blocks in Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and Maranges, with 40% of all plantings in Premier Cru sites. Minimal intervention farming practices are employed in all vineyards to drive optimal terroir expression, and ensure soil and plant health.
The vineyards in Maranges area are interlocked with those of neighbouring Santenay, with which it shares some well-thought-of Premiers Crus. The vineyards mostly have a South/South-westerly exposure and lie at altitudes of 240-400 metres. Depending on the location some brown limestone soils and limey marls cand be found as well.

Tasting Notes:
Crispy aromas with a deep aromatic intensity (especially red fruits such as cherry). Warm and fluid, its tannic structure is notably delicate and subtle. The mouth, fresh, and tinged with liquorice, lays down a meaty foundation for peppery flavours. A great wine!
