Founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor to the Duke of Burgundy, and his wife Guigone de Salins, the Hospices de Beaune has historically sustained its charitable hospital through vineyard donations. Today, the estate spans 60 hectares, with 85% classified as Premier and Grand Crus, and has hosted its world-renowned wine auction annually since 1859.
Named in honor of the hospital's founder, Cuvée Nicolas Rolin is a benchmark Beaune Premier Cru. Blending fruit from top parcels, including the depth and structure of Grèves and Teurons, the refined complexity of Bressandes, and the vibrant floral fruit of Cent-Vignes and Genêt, it offers a harmonious and complete expression of the Beaune terroir.
