For a century, the Gouges family has safeguarded the heritage of Burgundy. In 1920, founder Henri Gouges acquired vineyards after the war, laying the foundation of the estate and tying its history to Nuits-Saint-Georges. As one of the first pioneers to bottle and sell independently in Burgundy, he also helped shape the AOC regulations—his vision remains at the heart of the domaine.
Now in its fourth generation, Grégory and Antoine Gouges carry forward this legacy with a mission of sustainability. For the past 15 years, the estate has followed organic farming, focusing on biodiversity and soil health.
All vineyards lie within Nuits-Saint-Georges. Over generations, the estate has grown to nearly 15 hectares, covering 10 appellations: 7 Premiers Crus, 2 Village wines, and 3 Bourgogne-level wines.
Nuits-Saint-Georges Village comes from five climats at the southern foot of the slopes — Plateaux, Belles Croix, Fleurières, Brûlées, and Chaliots — covering a total of about 2 hectares. The deep clay, alluvium soils. and limestone gravels give rise to the pure and generous style. With a few years of cellaring, it will reveal its true potential.

This dark and inky red has aromas of dark plums, mocha and roasted mushrooms. It’s full-bodied, with plush and ripe tannins and a long, dense finish. Better after 2025.

The bouquet jumps from the glass in a blend of black raspberries, cassis, balsam bough, espresso… On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and quite sappy at the core, with really fine focus and balance… ripe, firm tannins, fine grip and a long, nascently complex and impressively cool finish.
