Deanston is housed in a former cotton mill in the central Highlands that dates back to the late eighteenth century. The buildings were converted in to a distillery in 1966.
Deanston is known for its unpeated whisky. They only use Scottish grown crops, sourced from local farmers and the water is from the River Teith, which flows over granite, making it very soft and perfect for making whisky. With help from the original lade used by the mill, the water is directed towards the distillery for use in production.
This award-winning 18 Years whisky has been fully matured in American white oak first-fill Bourbon barrels for 18 years in vaulted ceiling warehouse at Deanston Distillery. The result is a classic Deanston whisky with notes of sweet gingerbread with a kick of black pepper and a twist of citrus.
