Château Montrose is a winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of fifteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.

Montrose’s purchase in 2006, Martin and Olivier BOUYGUES launched a vast renovation program of the site with environmental aims. Both brothers are willing to push Montrose forward as a model and a showcase of new technologies of sustainable development. The companies participating to the construction follow the environmental convention: environment’s respect and appropriate materials.

The vineyard is in Saint-Estèphe, the northernmost of the great Médoc communes. The soil in Montrose's 168 acres (0.68 km2) consists of gravel and black sand with a subsoil of clay and marl.

Tasting Notes:
(2010)Dense black color, with violet highlights. Complex nose with notes of morello cherry, raspberry, dark tobacco, Havana, and a touch of vanilla. Net attack in the mouth. Mid-mouth fresh and ample. Long finish on neat tannins. Great homogeneity in the tasting with recurring notes of raspberry, vanilla and mocha. Discreetly wooded.
(2011)The robe is silky with an average intensity and a beautiful cherry red colour.
The nose is very expressive and concentrated, slightly sweet and woody, with a mixture of red fruit aromas, raspberry, and morello cherry. The palate is powerful and racy, combining suppleness and tight tannins. Beautiful length in the mouth, with tannins less evident in the after-taste. A Second wine well balanced and accessible.
